Is this oil leak (with photos)?

Is this oil leak?
What is the round black part in the center of the photo?

Looking at the photo... bottom of the car is on the right side of the photo.
front of the car is on the bottom of the photo.

I recently replaced the water pump and thermostat....
Car doesn't leave oil leaks on the floor over night...
It was only leaking coolant until I replaced the water pump and thermostat...

That's your p/s pump. Looks like ya have some lines seeping. Id suggest cleaning it up the best ya can and keep an eye on it to gauge how much its leaking. Make sure to keep an eye on your p/s fluid level and to use the right fluid.

Yep, PS pump. Mine's been seeping for years, but usually at the top.

So this is a common thing for 1st gen Minis?

Looks like the fluid has been there for a while... I'll blast it with some
brake fluid see if that will come off....

Thanks guys!

My PS pump was dirty also but once i cleaned it all was fine ... Lots ofnoil can get on it when changing your oil filter hence the black sludge.
Always clean your engine bay, particularly the rear of the engine, after an oil change to avoid such deposits.
If deposits are still returning then you might have a small leak, ps fluid or other

Yeah mine has that too on the oilpan and the power steering its seeping out slowly. Not alot but its still building up. Id say thats pretty normal for a mini they all had that problem untill u replace them. Id say as long as your fluids levels arnt dropping fast and theres none on the floor under the car your fine

I think its one of the PS hoses at the top seeping. It runs down inside the hose heat shield tubing an right onto the pump. My cars doing the same thing.

It’s another one of those things that affects us all. If you ever get your pump replaced under the repair extension, they should fix that too.

I'm sure the forums are filled with the answer to this, but if you don't mind me asking, how do you clean your engine bay?

I clean my engine bay with a engine degreaser.. "Engine Brite". Then pressure wash it off... But also being careful of keeping it on the engine only.. And also being careful of pressure washing the engine and staying away from the electrical..lol..
