Used GP2...Would you buy one?

I have a new JCW on order with the dealer but came across a two month old used GP2 with 2,100 miles on it at the Porsche dealer. The car looks great (of course as its only two months old) and I plan to talk to the dealer today. The asking price is $34,500 which seems attractive since the Mini dealers aren't discounting on the new ones.

However, I have a few questions about the criticality of following a proper break in period. Not sure if the original did or did not do that. Also, do GP2 cars come with the same four year warranty and three years of maintenance similar to the other MCs?

Sounds like a fair price given its a $40k car.

Yes. See if you can squeeze them to Certify Pre-own it... longer warranty but I really doubt they will especially since they are a Porsche dealer. If not just offer $32k and see what they say. I have a problem paying asking price lol, any discount at all is a good thing. Hard to check if they followed the procedure but more than likely was done since this is a "special" MINI. Car still has warranty, wouldn't worry too much about it.

I suspect the Porsche dealer gave the previous owner around $30-31k as a trade in so there could very well be some room to play with. I'll keep you posted.

I opted out if the used GP2 car. I'm going to stay with the MCS loaded with JCW options that I have on order. Thx for the input

I hated buying the GP at full retail but now that I have it I will never regret it. It is totally awesome and just when I thought my FJCW couldn't get any better, MINI did it.... I'll always miss the FJCW but the GP is killer, so is my 06 GP that I'll never sell :-)
