R57 Jump in RPM at Low Speed?
Jump in RPM at Low Speed?
Hi all,
2009, 65k miles, had it about a month. I'm overdue for my Service visit, but the mechanic said the only thing he was expecting to need work was the brakes, and I've got time on those...
CEL went on a couple of weeks ago, turned out to be the gas cap. The only other issue I can think of is that it seems to lose a little bit of acceleration "oomph" when I've got the a/c blasting, but I figure that's probably normal.
Anyway, I was going up a hill today, about 15mph, and as I let off the gas to take a turn, the rpm jumped a tad, and car seemed to speed up a bit and then return to normal (just a couple mph, but that's noticeable when you're down to 7mph). This happened twice in quick succession. The RPMs didn't go over 2k. I braked, and it stopped. I didn't notice it happen again in the next few minutes (was pulling into the parking garage at work).
I'm hoping this is "user error" -- something about the way I was driving was causing the car to have to compensate. But I'm concerned that this could be a transmission issue?
