subwoofer in r57

So I've been poking around and curious what options people predominantly use to get some extra kick in their minis.

I've got an r57 with the HK system, and it's nonexistent on the low end. I need some extra oomph.

I see one option is Integral Designs, with their $1,100 box. A bit too much for me.

JL has a stealthbox that might be a nice option, closer to $600

Has anyone made a custom enclosure and integrated it into their stock system? Where are the best places to place the sub and amp?

GFB,

JL does not make a Stealthbox for the R57. They used to make one for the R56, but it was $1199 and it was so bad they discontinued it. And to be fair, the one that they make for the R50/3 is definitely not stealth, and that $599 price does not include an amp or any wiring or hardware. It certainly doesn't include the comprehensive plug-n-play setup that ours does. Add all that in and the JL costs a bit more than ours.

We're the only ones out there right now making a proper vehicle-specific subwoofer system (i.e. NOT an empty box) that is designed entirely around the vehicle. No, it isn't cheap. But it is a great value.

Last Friday I had a stereo place put in a 3 channel JL amp and a JL WXv2 10" sub in my R57. It's a inclosed small box that is in the boot. I can take it out anytime if I need the space. I also replaced the front speakers to Focal. I spent under 900.00 installed and it sounds wonderful! The 10" is a little much, I need to turn it down.
I mainly listen to Jazz, Blues, and Classical.
