Just curious whose using their Roadster for year round driver or s it only brought out on sunny days? If you only vring it out in the sun, what other car do you use in the bad weather.

For me I plan to keep it garaged when the weather is bad [and after I actually get one!] and drive my Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 in the bad weather. M Crossfire used to be the Fair-Weather car but wil get demoted to daily driver once I take delivery of the Roadster.

"Lil Raggi" I like that

Year 'round for me too. Though not really looking forward to the cold. Still, with this thing's awesome heated seats, it should be just fine.

Mine is a daily driver.

The All Weather stock Conti's are fine in the snow.

If you want more grip go for Bridgestone Blizzak's.

Next year when the stock tires are worn out, I'll get a set of light weight wheels and performance summer tires and use the set of Blizzak's that are sitting in my garage.

Anyway you don't want to miss that 37 degree day with sun for a bit of top down fun..

I had more top down days in February than I did in March this year..

I had a Crossfire convertible, and it was horrible in snow. Basically deadly. I got rid of it. The tires were too expensive and wore out every 10000 miles.

I waited for the roadster, and it handled pretty well in snow without snow tires. Now I am getting snow tires for my old rims when the new ones come in.

Mine goes in the garage in the winter. I have a truck for the winter. But the biggest reason is I live in the country of NJ and they spread rocks all over the roads around here in winter. That and a ton of salt. Driving in the winter = no paint.

Can't blame or call you names for not drivi g if the lay gravel or rocks. Even with the Invisashield, still won't stop them, without dents or paint chips.

I have a crossfire Coupe. My second winter in it and I did not have any real issues in the snow. I ran Conti All Seasons.

I think spiney has a whole photo album full of snowy motoring pics.

I run Blizzaks mounted on a separate set of MSW wheels to make the seasonal swap a piece of cake. I confess to motoring a bit less frequently in the middle of winter but whenever I do, I can go through just about anything without issues.

That's what input on it, too. The tires were just too wide for the weight of the car, and I couldn't get over 35 MPH without sliding.

This Roadster does beautifully. Not great in slush, but what car is?

It's tough to decide whether to drive the car or ride the motorcycle on nice days. Right now, the Roadster seems to win a lot.

My Roadster is my only vehicle - don't have any issues with bad weather other than how water runs off the top during rain when you open the door (there is no gutter like a hardtop)

Same here too. I has a Miata and as noisy and drafty as it was,Lil Raggi could not be any worse. We did have some cold weather in April, and dome snow in May too, no problems.

My Roadster will be a four season vehicle. It will be just as pampered whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall.

If it's 30+ degrees and sunny, it's top-down weather! Couldn't agree more about the Blizzaks, I got a really nice set on 17" Enkeis (I'll do JCW brakes one day so wanted 17s) and had zero problems. The thread is here.

Here's a couple of pictures.

That pond at the end of your steep driveway in the middle of winter, still gives me creeps, spiny. How have you managed to stay out of it?

It's not actually as steep as it looks, except for the last part up to the garage.

That said, one of my son's friends almost went in, in a Jeep in the dark, but in the summer not in the snow.

I also had a moment with my wife's Clubman this winter, where it wouldn't go forward or backward in the snow, but was happy to slide sideways with the wheels spinning, down the hill towards the ice! We had to get the shovels out and dig it free.

Spiney,

From your photos, that area looks very nice. I love the tree lined roads. My Brother-In-Law lives in Heath but I think that is further north up by the Vermont border.

The other reason I am keeping the Roadster as a summer car is I need a reason to justify to my wife that keeping the Crossfire is a good idea. My daughter's 06 S makes our third along with my wife's '11 Countryman S and my assassinated '08 JCW.

R59S gets driven all year but I'll admit snow, slush and salt will not get on the car because I don't want to have to clean it up in the cold weather. My all wheel drive SUV can be ran through a car wash if it gets covered with crap from Ohio winters.

Our roadster will be a daily driver year round as its too much fun not to be driven. When it does snow around here it sometimes puts a snow drift right in front of the garage and if I'm careful I can wade out in the snow and take a picture showing it being snowed in. My boss doesn't know I also have an SUV but it does make a good excuse for taking the day off.

Year round. I've yet to put the top up for anything but rain or passenger complaints. I view it as a personal challenge to see how far into winter I can get before I am too cold to motor with the top down.

I'll drive it through the Northern Virginia winter. Thank God I'm moving to the Florida Gulf Coast next summer!

Do my Roadster brethren use any type of commercial car wash during winter?
