the price for 4 in 215/45/17 is too appealing not to ask...

Also, is this a problem with 17" konig holes, with, i believe a +45mm offset?

I've got the 711's in 205/40/17. I really like them, especially for the pirce! Use them for AutoX and my daily drivers. no complaints. Very good in the rain, IMO, something I was very worried about. A couple of weeks ago it was absolutely pissing out, about an inch an hour, and I had no troubles at highway speed or around town.

I am running Pareda Spec IIs as well roght now and thinking about 711s. My Paredas only lasted 12K! They were great but I can't be payng $450 every 6months. I am worried about the performance of 711s though. I drive really hard all the time. Alex, any thoughts?

Et45, I doubt it will rub, ususally 42 and higher is good. Are you lowering?

Nice tires for rain and daily commuting. Hard enough that they wear a long time before requiring replacement.

Terrible for track or autocross use, they are just too hard. Make real nice smoke clouds with little appreciable wear on the back of my Mustang.

Overall I would recommend Yoko ES100s over the 711s, same wet traction, slightly quieter road noise levels, and better dry traction characteristics.

I like the ES100's - but I'm not certain I feel like paying $400 versus $240 for the marginal road performance. I don't track or autox - and don't plan on it.

Well, I have had the ES100s on my Evo 8, it made for a very civilized all weather vehicle, and still allowed some spirited driving in regular commuting.

I currently have the 711s on my Mustang, and they are good in the rain, but not up to the level of the ES100s, they also tend to be noisier, though it is harder to notice with the full offroad Bassani exhaust on that car. Definitely lower grip though.

For bang-for-the-buck, the 711s are about the best deal. For living with for 10K miles, the ES100s are worth the extra money.

For comparison, check out Tirerack's testing on the ES100, 712 (step up from the 711), and Sumitomo tires. Its some good reading: Tire Comparison
