Which is better for blacking out the chrome on the Mini; Plastic-dip or Black out tape ?

Comments from those that have used either or both. . . . . Please

 

I've used both and prefer the look of vinyl wrap on trim pieces and blackout tape on the belt line trim. Just a personal preference thing.

 

the tape is a semi-gloss, which looks great.

plastidip is flat, unless you use a glossifier.

I've plastidipped all of my chrome on my mini and it looks amazing!!! Really easy to work with and holds up great to the elements. Im getting ready to do up my rims next.

What have people used to black out their door handles? I've heard that the Plastidip doesn't hold up very well for that application. I figured doing a vinyl wrap on the handles on the doors & barn doors on my soon to be Clubman would hold up better, in addition to better matching the glossiness of the black roof and mirrors.

Has anyone gone that route? If so, how difficult was it to wrap? Did you actually remove the handles (or at least loosen them) so you could tuck the vinyl behind the handle? Or just cut the vinyl at the point where the door handle meets the car?
