Engine screech at 3k up rpms
Engine screech at 3k up rpms
So i started noticing my car would screetch at high rpms, im having trouble finding it, its kindof like a screetch grind noise, it is definately in the pulley and supercharger area, could be an idler pulley bearing or the belt slipping im not sure
I just had my tensioner damper replaced with an alta adjustable tensioner, and i have a new belt with the proper size for a 17% pulley and a 2% crank pulley
Has anybody ever had this problem, or does anybody know or have an idea of what it could be?
Thanks

I have about one hole on the tensioner showing, both are alta pulleys, although the supercharger pulley is the v1. I have a napa 060539 belt on it, and i just installed it less than a week ago
I took out the tensioner itself to inspect the bearing but it is perfectly fine

The higher rpm screatch is USUALLY a sign of belt slipping....
in the past, alta's charts have been on the longish side for belts. I am honestly not sure which one for your combo...but with ONE hole showing, it should be ok...could be a bit tighter with a new belt..they do stretch...
V1 imo is a better pullet than their V2..so no issues there....edges of the belt look ok?
