Which tires are the latest in run flat technology?

I seem to recall reading that some run flat tires are basically into their third, or fourth generation; and that they are leaps and bounds superior (in comfort) to the first ones that started showing up on our MINIs ...

I've got the mini oem dunlops in the summer right now, wearing down to when I need to swap them; I appreciate the convenience of RFT (I've used it even once), and what I look forward to is the advancements that come from the continued efforts by the tire mftrs, since RFTs aren't going away (due to BMW/MINI/Others), to lose their "they are crap" image.

So, which tires ARE the ones that represent the latest in rft tech?

I've got a set of 17" Bridgestone RE960AS pole position RFTs on order, which are 3rd gen RFT tech and reported to be much smoother riding. I'll know just how good they are in a few days

hmm, a quick search is just showing me Bridgestone as advertising "3rd generation" - is that really true? are there no other similary-modern RFTs? I was hoping one would match the current DTD sales

Had them on for a day now and while I wouldn't say that the ride has been transformed, it certainly now seems less jarring. Plus I'm no longer feeling EVERY minor imperfection in the road.
