Wiring a Double Din Radio

Hi Everyone,

I purchased the metra kit, a new harness, and an antenna adapter...
I've wired everything following the colors correctly.
Unfortunately my new headunit does not power on. :/
Am I supposed to wire new power and grounds.... x9331 connector???
I don't understand how the stock radio gets power???

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!

I actually ran new power, ignition and ground since I was not using the internal amp on my new HU but if I recall the metra wiring harness has a sidenote that on the Mini you have to Swapp the red power lead in the connector to a different position. I cant tell you exactly which position to move to but if you look at the Mini harness you should be able to determine the location. Or you can run a new wire to the HU.

My Harness did not include such notes!
What I ended up doing is taking a multimeter and measuring voltages to try and figure what wire was what...
Below is my (hoaky, electrical inexperienced) diagram of the stock harness pinout. The left are all of the spreaker wires. Those were ok. Basically I could not find a power source that was switched when the ignition was switched (the red wire). There were also wires that were getting power but not near 12v... even when the ignition was switched on.
What I ended up doing was just running a power wire to the cigarette lighter since that will not switch on until you push the start or start the mini.
