hmmmmm

owned from new? or special model?

My 7 does not have cups behind the grip

but my '79 does and those are held in by the handles .... caught beneath the ends of the factory latches

I suspect your's are after market and will bet a choc' donut they are held in by 2 sided tape ...... heat 'em up a little and pry slowly. A good hair drier will cover it.

Clean up the glue residue with GooGone

If it is not the handle and actually the cup as you say they will be help on with strong double sided tape. A hair drier and fishing line can help remove them.

The chrome door handle cups are not standard and they are not a factory accessory. The previous owner must have bought them from a third party company. They're held on by 3M double-sided trim tape. Because they're curved, it will be harder to remove them than it would an emblem. I'm not sure if it would be possible to use fishing line, but you might want to apply heat (with a hair dryer) to the cup and then try gently pulling it off.

Thank you guys, I checked it out last night and it appears that that is the case. Its just a double sided tape. gonna try the heat on my next day off and get those taken off.
