R50/53 About to do some maintenance have Questions
About to do some maintenance have Questions
So here is my "to-do" list and I need to know how 'big' of a job these are. Please keep in mind the following:
I have a 2-post lift with tranny jack, engine hoist, etc
I have a race car that I do all my own work on
I have the Bentley service manual
1. Replace LCA bushings and both ball joints (both sides). I got the Powerflex kit from WMW and they are pre-pressed as well as the stretch bolts. Don't even try to tell me that you can re-use the bolts...
2. Replace the Crankshaft Position sensor O-ring (its leaking)
#1 I am fairly confident about. I really don't think I need to totally remove the subframe? Am I wrong?
#2 seems...intricate lol. How difficult is this really? It seems pretty straight forward but in-depth. I have seen lots of references on sliding out the MFE so it can't be that hocus-pocus. Also I have heard about putting the car into service mode?? What is this? I imagine it has something to do with the airbags and the MFE pull out?
TIA
