New 2013 JCW pricing and lease rates

I went shopping for an R56 (hardtop) JCW the other day, and was floored by how uninterested the dealer was in selling the car (vs. pushing 2 GPs stuck on the lot), and how un-competitive MiniUSA lease rates are on JCWs.

Basically, there are no deals on JCW's of any kind.
You can get a better/faster 135is or 335i for the same or lower lease payments vs. what you will be making on a JCW!

Facts first: 2013 JCW, 3-year lease, 10K miles/year, top credit tier financing with no markups:
MSRP: 34,820
Sale price: 31,222 (invoice + $500)
Residual: 46% <-- yes, THAT LOW!!!
MF / Rate: 0.00160 / 3.85%
Down: $0.00

Monthly payment w/out taxes: $498
Monthly payment with taxes included: $533

What kills it is the pathetically low residual value.
With a new model around the corner, it may be justified, but I am not buying another R56 car for that very same reason.

Is this another way of MiniUSA screaming - we don't care if anyone buys our top of the line cars in the last model year!?

Or have the lease terms and residuals on JCWs always been this un-competitive?

a

P.S.: BTW, the dealer had 2 (two) R56 GP cars on the lot, really motivated to push them out the door. Both buyers had, evidently, backed out.

I've always heard the residual on the JCWs is 46% compared to the MCS around 55 and the Justa at 62 or so? Either way, at $500 plus per month you're easily in 1/3 series territory without a sweat.

OK, who wants to sell me their gently used 3-year old JCW for 46.1% of what you paid for it ?
