Strange error after rear brakes and tire rotation

Ok, changed out the rear pads and sensor on my wife's 08 MCS. Reset the brake indicator and all was good. A couple days later I rotated her tires and reset the TPMS. The next day while driving a brake error popped up. Here's the sequence (I think )

the 'brake' lights up red
red circle with exclamation point
yellow triangle with exclamation point inside and arrow circling it, DSC also lights up
yellow circle with exclamation point
then the yellow circle goes red.

Most of the time it goes back off fairly quick, but she said sometimes it stays on a while, but always goes off.

Looking in the manual it sounds like it's maybe a DSC issue, but it seems strange that this happened right after the rotation.

I went into all the menus to see if it was a service beacon or something because we just hit 50k miles so I thought it might just be a service reminder. Couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any ideas whats up?

I'd check for a loose or pinched wire at the rear wheels. Good luck.

Sounds like an ABS sensor. Since you just did brakes and sensors maybe you knocked one of the ABS sensors lose. Check them.

Ahh, you know I accidentally unplugged the ABS sensor when I was swapping out the wear sensor. I will have to check that out as maybe I didn't get it connected again all the way.

Well I pulled the wheel off and checked the connections and everything looks fine. Can I just take it to autozone or wherever and have them scan it? The mini dealer is not super close, plus I'd rather fix it myself if it's something simple.

You need an ABS scan tool as most OBDII scan tools don't do ABS as well.

Damn. Guess I might just have to take it to the dealer.

I think the obivious question becomes: Did you check both wheels?

You know, I didn't. I honestly expected to see the connection not fully snapped in on the one I took apart on accident. I will pull the other wheel off and check it out.

Well took it to Mini today as they were running a special on free diagnostics and the only thing they could find was that it was a hair low on brake fluid so they think that when it was sloshing around it would trigger the sensor. They added a little and it hasn't come back on since so I think that's all it was. I did check the level when I was trying to figure it all out but maybe I mistook the minimum line for the max line or something.
