Guess having All4 on Countryman frame makes more sense, but I was hoping for a R58 with rear hatch removed, tail gate added, rear open bed in back with maybe a T-Roof option....Not something you would take to HD for a sheet of plywood, but in keeping with MINI trends, and somewhat functional for other duties. Would be an inexpensive retrofit for MINI and serve to those clients who had/want a Subaru Brat substitute ( no longer manufactured )

No because if I wanted a pick up truck I would go buy one not some rehash of a soon to be worn out vehicle.

No, I would not.

But I'm not a truck person, I never have been.

Damn, if MINI does go this route, seems like they really do want to expand their game against bigger companies to be competitive. I'm not loving it, but I'm not hating it either.

The El Coopermino! It would sell on the left coast, but would never be a high-volume model. Probably only a couple hundred units a month - just like the current R58 Coupe.

I like it and would consider it. It should speed up the countryman losing some weight. It would also be easier to cool and heat due to reduced cabin volume. It would also make a better shop vehicle than the clubvan due to more usable space depending on your application.
