Alta air filter oil.

Is it safe to use k&n oil filter on the alta intake filters? The site states they sell uni brand and can be found at most bike shops. I did buy the cleaner but the oil.

You can not use the K&N filter oil on a foam filter. You need one designed for foam filters. You can use these as they are found in most cycle shops

Ok thanks for the info. I did use the k&n so I'll clean it off tomorrow. I did drive it around the block, is that ok?

K&n filter oil will destroy/degrade the foam....
Clean it ASAP. You will notice when you apply the uni oil, it is VERY different stuff.
The single most important thing with filters that get cleaned and oiled is to follow the directions....the oil is used pretty sparingly...more IS NOT BETTER. Excess oil will cause sensor issues....

Thanks for the info. I cleaned the k&n oil already, should I clean it again? As for the oil the above post from bram states to use the pj1 oil. I got the cleaner from my local bike shop, is that oil ok also?

Just make sure it is made for FOAM. It does not matter what brand you buy.

Again, more is not better. The oil is pretty sticky.
