The wife was attacked this am on her way to yoga class.
The doe caught her right at the S logo on the vent thingey on
driver's side. Head & neck on windshield right before her eyes,
torso down the panel before drivers door & driver's door.
She estimates somewhere between 55-65 before she hit the ABS
(really hard!) & whoa'd it down by probably half before impact.
Couldn't move more to the shoulder because of the drop off.

The deer split, total damage to the car is $300.ooish.

The little S-vent thing was filled up with hair & the seat was filled up with,
well never mind......(j/k)

She is very lucky.

I hit a deer with my Jetta and did $4000 worth of damage to it. Fortunately it was still driveable because I was in the middle of no where in Utah at the time.

sorry to here about the hit and run by the deer.I have to dodge bambi's almost every day,Spend more time scaning ditchs and bush line than on coming traffic. My big concern is hammering on the binders and those behind not being able to stop as fast as the MINI,Miss the deer and then get it up the rump by a mini van,suv thing

and driving around dead critters keeps one on their toes also

No injuries (to your wife) and only $300? Count your blessings.

Glad she's OK. Do you know if those whistles that you mount on the bumper (or hopefully hidden underneath somewhere) work?

I have those whistles on my wife's Subaru and the deer look and run away. I can personally vouche for that. Saw it with my own eyes!

Maybe deer are just scared of Scoobys.

Yeah, she was real lucky....
I looked for the deer as best I could (in slippers),
but I didn't climb down into the ravine..
It happened like five minutes from home.
I was stunned when I saw the car at how little damage there really was.
We love deer (besides their deliciousness factor) & would never try & hurt one,
so she was really bummed out that she'd done some car hunting..
I hit one in my 242 Volvo square dead nuuts straight on a few years back
& had to put it down (the deer not the Volvo)....

Real drag! SCMINI says they don't have a body shop, so we're sticking
local for the easy repairs...

I've had cars with those whistles, did not seem to do much for deer, and they broke off easy If I see one I get on the horn making noise ,they tend to stand still at least,

Nope the airbags didn't deploy. Might not have been enuff of an impact (although I'm sure the deer might want to argue that)...

I view deer whistles to be the same category as those induction "tornadoes"
or penile enhancement supplements.... SMOKE~

fondest memory of my childhood was a family trip to the beach. Mom and dad just bought a new min van. On the same day they picked it up from the dealer we loaded it up headed for the beach. no more than four hours later, a deer jumped out of the road and added an aftermarket fur lined radiator to the min van. I also picked up some new vocabulary words that I wasnt allowed to use until much later in life. That deer took the whole front end off a min van, your wife is lucky that it only did $300 damage to a mini.
