Defrost blower level adjustment?

'05 R50
The blower motor always defaults to high (level8) when defrost is chosen on the climate control module. I did some digging (http://www.bmw-planet.com/lib/mini/HVAC%20OVERVIEW.pdf) and found that this is default.
Was wondering if anyone has been able to mod this to have an adjustable blower on defrost?

If you press and hold the defrost button, it goes into 'non jet engine blower' mode which is effective and much more tolerable.

THANK YOU!

This has driven me nuts for some time now, just kept forgetting to ask questions about it. Sweet!

I have had my MINI for a week, so I'm learning things too. I tried today, but mine doesn't do that when I press and hold the defrost button. Pressing and holding, or one quick press always does the same thing, either turns it on high or turns it off.
BTW Mines an '05 MCS with auto climate control.

Anywho, the solution I found works, but requires more button presses. Press the Up Arrow (opens the defroster vent) press the Minus Button as needed (turns down the fan speed), press the rear window defrost button if needed, and don't forget that defrost will work best when a/c is on -the temp does not need to be set cold, but having it run behind the heater acts as a dehumidifier.

Is my defrost button programmed wrong?? I noticed that I can not open or close windows with the key fob either, and I believe that is a programming issue.

Heat/ac same as mine.
keyfob programming was a customer option...buttons could do different things. The range is quite short, but many folks had issues with the keys getting buttons pressed in pants/purses....and sunroof /windows opening ....if rain happens...ouch. many had the feature unprogrammed.
