I'm sure someone's attempted to put a blow off valve on their supercharged motor anyone know any useful information or share links is it pointless? Would it work?

 

A FEW threads on this...on a MINI's TYPE of SC, it is pointless. Remember the SC on the MINI is DIRECTLY connected to the MOTOR's rpms by way of the belt....so no lag like with a turbo, where it takes time to spool down, creating un-needed boost when you let off the throttle......
Do a search...been discussed in depth.
There are U-Tube vids of folks doing it to different SC's, but they really only waste boost and make noise.

As Zippy said, nothing positive about a BOV on a supercharger. But you can get an R56 if you want that BOV sound. Me, I'm a whiner.

 

I'm still very knew to Mini but so far I love it. It wasn't necessarily an intent to do question just a question. I'm finding that searches on forums don't work excellently. So I ask thanks for the info though. And someday I will definitely think about getting a new turbo'd mini for now I will love the whiner I have!!!
