Plastidipped the wheels (with pics)
Recently dipped the wheels on my MCS , gonna do the whole car in matte white soon ,if I don't like it I'm prolly gonna do black or red
But what do you guys think? They are black with a few coats of gold metalizer it was sunny when i took the after image so it hard to see the bronzey gold look

They have a very attractive gold sheen when the sun is hitting the wheel (look at the rear )
Would look better on contrast with a white car

Looks good.
We've sold some of the plastidip black and glossifier but never the metalizer. I kinda like it.

Nice job! I like the way the color of the wheels changes depending on the lighting.
Are you thinking of plasti-dipping your whole car? Wasn't sure from you post if you were gonna use PD to go matte white.
I just re-dipped my wheels over the weekend. My first coat went on last Sept. but I had a few flaws, and with application during a high-humidity time of year, I needed to redo them.
I stripped off the original layers of plasti-dip, which wasn't as easy as I had hoped. I had to use Goo Gone to help soften or loosen the PD and aid removal, but it took a fair amount of scraping with a plastic putty knife and rubbing to get it off.
I only mention this cuz if you plasti-dip your whole car, removal might be a beyotch. Goo Gone is a pretty harsh product, kinda like paint thinner, and I'd hate to rub that stuff on my car's paint.
My two cents: if you're thinking about changing the exterior of your car without repainting it, consider a vinyl wrap instead of PD.

Thanks guys , Yes I did say I was gonna dip the whole car white. I'll ne taking pictures and a video of the finished product to post some What of a DIY or some tips , I actually noticed today that because of the curb rash on one of wheels the outside rim so I peeled all the wheels , Ill post a pic later I'm not sure how I feel about it

Dip is better than a vinyl wrap
Wraps leave an adhesive residue , you can't touch up rock chips or imperfections and it is way to expensive
Btw with enough layers plastidip will come off without the aid of any adhesive removers but if you really are having trouble I highly suggest turtle wax bug and tar remover , won't harm the clear if you wash immediately afterwards

I dipped my car a blue/grey color before and it wouldn't peel...I got so frustrated. I let the goo gone sit for 10 minutes and it literally washed right off.To the OP, I haaaaaaaate the white. For some reason it's a major PITA to peel. I've dipped my car several times, but white is always trouble for me.

Hey those projects look great. For those who have done a complete car, can you run over the steps you used? Any special prep (wax remover?) etc. Did you use the spray cans or spray on from the bulk (1 gallon can) --if so what type of spray gun?
