pxlmxr,

Your MC is very very sharp.
Any ideas on cat-back exhaust? Rspeed, Rogue, Helix?
Any thought on changing the side marker light from orange to white? Some chrome?

Looks great. I thought you had an "S" at first.
Drop in a turbo kit someday.

Minihune,

Thanks!

My next upgrades should be the Helix 13 exhaust- read in Grassroots magazine that it makes the most HP for the MINI

I definitley would like to white out the side markers too

It's definitley a work in progress

Nice looking car and excellent write up. I was wondering how much the wheels weighed and are they priced similarly to Volks?

Thanks!

They weigh about 16lbs & change I believe -though I haven't done a comparison to my stock 16's yet to get an exact weight savings figure. I plan on doing that sometime in the near future.

Price wise - they are not quite as much as Volks- The deal I got was from

ImportHookup.com

Check out thier wheel forum- look for "Gramlights Special"

They have the best prices on these wheels that I have found anywhere.

The prices are about he same as SSR and they are half the price of Volks. Good deal! How about tires? Were they priced right?

The package that Vik offers comes with Kuhmos- but I thought I read something about a Kuhmo recall and SCCA ban recently until things get sorted out- so I wasn't so keen on them.

He upgraded me to the Yoko's for $20 a tire- so 80 bucks- at that point I figured I wasn't paying tax and was getting a great discount on the wheels- plus he threw in the wheel locks.

All in all I couldn't be happier with the service I recieved.

Oh, so the price listed included Kumhos? If so, that's an unbeatable deal and with everything tossed in too.

Same here. I think it's the gas filler lid that says "S" at first glance.

RSpeed was not included in the Grassroots test, but most of the auto-x drivers have the RSpeed- and it is on sale $100 cheaper than the Helix.

Those prices are pretty good- I actually got them from

http://www.importhookup.com/forums/s...mp;threadid=21

These guys did a great job- and also offer free shipping.

my price was a little higher because I upgraded to the YOKO's and added center caps. The service was top notch though.

HI,

I did a little research and it turns out they share the same address and phone number. I assumed they were the same guys so I posted the link. I am sure with the extras that you purchased the price would have been the same as the link I posted.

I like the price of the 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels. Great prices! I just don't know how strong they are at 15lbs each.

I have a brake question; the offset is +42 on the 57S. Will that clear any of the big brake kits without spacers?

That's a great question- Let me look into that and I'll get back to you.... I am interested in doing a big brake kit at some point - so that would be good to know

Ok so I just spoke to Vick over at Wheel Options
where I got the wheels- and he said that the way that those wheels are designed- they should fit over a big brake kit without spacers. If it were me- I would do some measurements before hand - but I think that Vicks word is pretty good he is VERY knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. Hope this helps.

Thanks for looking into it. I've read about other wheels that are +42 that fit the big brake kits but I don't know exactly why they fit since the SSR Comp is +42 but needs 5mm spacers.

The 57S is a real sharp wheel. I was thinking about the Enkei RPM2 as well because it's +45 but the 57S is a half inch wider rim.

Good thing I won't be getting the car for awhile. It's still has the "on order" status.
