Hate that it got hit, but glad the 2nd best outcome was possible. 1st best outcome being the person who did it taking responsibility for it of course!

Ive noticed just about everyone loves the minis. There is nothing on the road that looks like them. They will allways be a headturner.

great resolution in that story
also liked the note about trading after detailing
I did that on every car I traded until finally figuring out it wasn't in your interest to spotlight every aesthetic defect with a detail...

Pure speculation on my part, however the Vanilla Bean is a favorite place for us riders to meet for coffee and some kind of pastry. The parking lot is gravel, so many folks pulling in on motorcycles are very cautious.

First thought that comes to mind. Someone with side bags pulled in, swong [is that a word] wide to avoid a pile of gravel and grazed the MINI. It had to be just a graze, because there was only red left.

Second thought, a rider was pushing out (backing up), did not notice the MINI, becasue they were paying attention to the gravel, making sure their footing would not give way, and backed into the MINI grazing it like above.

In either case, the saddle bag would look far worse than the MINI.

I just can't see a car doing this, just grazing it ever so lightly, but it could simply be this as well.

Ya just never know thou. It could have been one of inland bound seagulls carrying a red buoy from the shorwa as well. (least probable out of the 3), but makes a good story

That's a great story. Good to see there are still decent folks in the world, just someone doing something for the goodness of doing it. Period. Thanks for sharing, and glad to hear there was no permanent damage.

What a nice guy!! It's little acts of kindness like this just for the sake of being kind, that make you feel like the world is still a wonderful place

& I'm glad your MINI is perfect once again!
