1st custom Mini JCW Conv. (2013) arrived today (3/15/13). Purchased Harmon Kardon sound system. Immediate rattle from rear speakers, even at low volume. Had a loaner last week with the same issue. Common issue? Solution? My 1st gen. mini conv. did not have this problem. Speaker rattles drive me insane!

 

I'm having the same problem with my 2013 Mini Conv with the Harmon Carden sound system. Mine seems to be coming from the passenger side rear. I already had the sub-woofer and tweeter replaced. Have another appt on 3/26.

 

From what I am reading on other threads, I'm going to take my car straight to an audio store. I will have to pay a little, but I just don't think a dealership is equipped to really isolate and resolve the problem.

I have a similar issue on my 2010 R57 with HK. They replaced the speaker in the right rear and that helped a bit. Very interested to know what you find out.

 

I've got similar rattle coming from the doors. So annoying. Really like to know how you fixed the rattles. I'm tempted to tear open the doors and foam the whole freaking thing so nothing can rattle.

 

In the end, they ended up replacing the rear subwoofer. They told me that they removed the panel and everything and that it still rattled, which lead them to the speaker. That seemed to do the trick. Sound system sounds as good as I originally expected it to be!
