Suspension stock r52 shocks with jcw gp springs?
stock r52 shocks with jcw gp springs?
1 week before i bought used jcw gp springs for my cabrio r52 and put them on it. But i realised that my overall traction become worse then stock. Anyone have an idea about this issue? what i have to do to improve my traction? I searched the forum and came up some results that koni fsd is the cheaper and a good solution to handling issues.another question is koni fsd+ stock springs or koni fsd + gp springs which brings more traction to me?btw i dont care about lowering and the toughness. I just want to improve my cabrios traction. Thanks
What he is saying, is that FSD struts cannot be lowered as it will damage them. If you want to lower the car, the yellows are the better option. I have the FSD struts and love them but it did raise the car a little. It all boils down to preferences.
If ride is not a concern, then look at coil overs. The FSD and yellows are more of a compromise between the two.
But i am looking for a cheaper option
coilovers are very valuable and also expensive here. So just shock is my first option. So considering that i have both stock and jcw gp springs what is the best one according to price and handling criteria? İ dont mind how my car is lowered or how hard and harsh it is.

and just to add to this, FSDs do handle much better than stock.
Buy the KONI Yellows/Sports and use the GP Springs. Just springs and struts are only a part of the total equation. If you really want the car to handle well, then you'll need to get some good front camber plates, rear lower adjustable control arms and a thicker rear sway bar. Then, after a good alignment, the car will handle well if you have adequate tires.
Since $$ apears to be a concern....
you own the springs...
so you could buy tye koni yellow (regular or sport) and install them....then if you want more handling, add camber plates, and maybe a rearswaybar...
Comes down to what you want, and the quality of the roads you have...
the kw coilovers are nice, as are ireland engineering, but they are overkill for a non track car, and if roads are bad, may fail prematurely.
Comes down to do you want it to handle better better than stock, or handle like a race car...it is a slippery slope...you could spend a boatload to get a small gain compared to just the basics....sounds like that what you wanted, the biggest gain for the least $$ with the gp springs.
Koni yellow sports are imo what you want, to go with you springs, then a rearswaybar, maybe camber plates...makes a good street combo...and even a entrylevel track setup.
As said above, don't forget the basics...a good alignment when done, and the single most important thing, some driver education!!

thanks everyone all my questions even in my head were answered. i already have front strut bar, alutec. when i will buy koni's my later purchases are: rear sway bar 19mm, rear end link and camber plates. my tires are bridgestone potenza s001 and they are in great condition. The last thing is I am a radio control car racer maybe thats why I am consered with this handling issue

The rubber bumper around the strut shaft. It is very firm and the Mini rests on them, making the suspension too stiff and causing a loss of grip. Cut a half inch off the firmer end, it makes a large difference.
