Service light on Startup

I have had my 2007 Mini Cooper S for almost a year now and I just noticed this morning as I am starting the car that the first thing that comes on the tachometer is the SERVICE light. It then goes out and the Car icon shows up, then to the regular settings.

I am assuming this is normal start up Lights check, am I right?

Funny that if this is normal how I never noticed it before.

Can someone start their Mini and tell me if you get the same thing!

Yes you are correct. Each time you start the car it basically self checks.

have you flipped thru the service menu to see what's past due?????

something not critical is past its counter I suspect . . .

I could start my Mini to check but only my MINI has the lights you describe
