I had the new M7 spring installed.. a total 30mm drop.

here are a few pics..here

Thanks to Peter(M7), Steve Lim, and Ryan for the assist, and the rest of Team MightyMiniZ, esp RFIbanez for driving me around and transporting my stock tyres for testing.

Why did you revert back to the s-lites from the Hamanns? I noticed you referred to the Hammans as boat anchors, but the s-lites are 25 lbs a shot too, so was it really that big of a weight difference? Just curious. The drop looks good though.

i think the Hamanns rub when lowered, so he probably went back to 50mm
offset.

I was planning to get the RGR's myself, but the 38mm offset pushed that
plan a few steps back.

Thanks trippy for the login thing. yeah just didn't want tp upload 37+pics to NAM (wouldn't be fair to use as hosting that many pics)

and the S-lites were what I was referring as boat anchors, the hamanns are lighter, thoughnot by much. will be getting volks as a running wheel and the hamanns will be my everyday rim.

I switched to S-lites for testing purposes. I wanted to know what the drop would be for a completely stock set-up, s-lites were my stock as well as for most out there, and I didn't know exactly how much of a drop it would be..since my hamann's stick out, I didn't want to inadvertantly drop my car so much as I would drop my fenders onto my wheel. the stock off-set tuck underneath when I loaded my hamanns onto the back of the car, but with out the load, with half a tank of gas, it was a 30mm drop all around (on average) (+ or - 1mm) after driving it around. I'll re measure in about a month after all things have settled to see if anything has changed.

But I did have fun drifting my car with the s-lites for testing. (scared my passenger in the process) (my car no longer dove into the corners, not that the stock set-up dove as much to begin with.. but if did seem more flat.. I'll find a Gtech and install and get some approximate skid pad numbers, isn't there a PPC app that allows it to measure G forces out there?)

Oh yeah, price is yet to be determined. I just got my hands on the first one (woo hoo)

Pretty cool.. dropped MINI's are always fun to see.

Can you get a picture of the entire car from the side to be able to compare front to rear visually? And what made you choose these springs over say H-Sports, H&R's, etc. Thanks.

Alright kids, Secondary testing done last night. ( high speed sweepers through Manhattan Beach) what i've found so far was that there is this odd paradoxical effect from the new springs. it's supposed to be a stiffer spring, though the ride is nice, not as jarring. You can still feel the road though it's taken the edge off the jarring ride. now knowing this I was fully expecting to roll into the corners. Or worse slide, or bottom out. but that didn't happen either.

Do note I'm 140lbs and I was alone in the car with 1/2 tank of gas.

but the handling is indeed more responsive. I suspect the spring rate is the exact balance for the stock suspension. The right spring rate for the stock Bound/ re bound.

anyway, handling is more responsive. I'm able to flick the car into the corners with a lot more abandon.

I would recommend this to anyone who decides to get springs alone. as ti replaces the stock ride height without sacrificing ride quality

Oh yeah,
here's Before

and after

Looks very very good.
Sounds good too.
Lowered but similar to stock suspension feel.
A good option.
