UK 2012 Mini one D - Enable OBC
I know reading on the web you can enable the full OBC on a mini that dont have it (It only comes up mileage left when the tank is low)
But finding a dealer/coder here in the UK who will do it is a right pain so decided to try myself.
Its a 2012 mini one d. I take it this cable will be able to code fine
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INPA-K-DCA...item3a72879001
Looking in the coding table on google docs it says adding "Add $550 to the VO (both CAS & FRM) and default vehicle (gives full OBC for vehicles with limited OBC-functions)"
Does this still apply on a uk model? Ive never coded before but good with programs so it cant be that hard if i follow the guides

Ok thanks. Reading all the guides they point to defaulting all the modules.... How do you default just the 1?
Check this thread. Specifically the section called "To load up the ORIGINAL factory defaults if you mess up."
Ok the cable turned up today but having no luck at all so far connecting to the car.
In INPA without even connecting the cable to the car its showing both the batteryand ignition with black dots?!
When i connect the cable to car in ncs expert i get a faulty vin message when trying to read.
Im wondering if the cable is any good since INPA shows its connected without it being anywhere near the car!

Tried a couple but more bothered about INPA showing its connected to a car when its not.
Just tried the cable on another pc and the same thing happen. Surely INPA should not show 2 black dots when nothing is connected to the OBD end??
There is a red light on the cable as well, this is always lit up

Right going to wipe the laptop and start again. Install windows xp on it (windows 7 32bit currently)
Im normally good with this sort of stuff......doing my head in. I dont think it helps being a newer mini as means me going abit off the guide. (Having to update EDIABAS to 7.2.0)

Ok its clear reading for forum i need to update to EDIABAS 7.2.0. I think this is where im going wrong. Please can someone give me a guide on how to do this and any link to the right file(s) i should be downloading
Mine was fine with the earlier EDIABAS, well at least as far as communicating with the car - it had problems coding some of the modules. Try searching the forum, there may be something in the R60 forums
Yes, your cable is the wrong one. You can't even use the one cactusbob posted. You NEED this one.
Yes, it costs way more than it should, but it is the only cable that is known to work reliably. Don't waste another $30 on another eBay cable that isn't going to work. You probably won't be able to return it because the sellers are all in China.
Trust me, I went thru 2 bad cables before buying the correct one I posted.
