Schomp MINI Downtown Denver Video Shoot
ON 2/21 THE EVENT WAS POSTPONED DUE TO SNOW/WEATHER. A NEW DATE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED. SEE POST #9 BELOW.
Schomp MINI Downtown Denver Video Shoot Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
You and your MINI, are requested to participate in a Downtown Denver video shoot for Ralph Schomp MINI's sponsorship of the 2013 Capitol Hill People's Fair (June 1-2).
From Carla Finn of Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton:
I'll need up to 16 MINIs downtown at the parking lot on 13th and Broadway by 8:30a.m. for staging. Broadway will be shut down between 9-11 am and we will have some fun video opportunities for that portion.
I'll need as many MINIs as possible downtown from 11-noon with our downtown Denver "takeover" and will have lunch set up in Civic Center Park for MINI5280 guests that attend.

Video shoot postponed
Thanks to those who committed to this shoot, on short notice. However, as of 2/21, this event has postponed due to the snow downtown and the desire for warm, sunny photo/video conditions. A new date will be announced later.

It was planned that up to 16 would be in the 9-11 am video shoot. After that, about 11 am as many as show up would "take over" the area. It will be fun, especially with streets closed and driving in/on the park.
And, um, red is RUDE and Purple Haze is fast and stealth.

You and your MINI, are requested to participate in a Downtown Denver video/photo shoot for Ralph Schomp MINI's sponsorship of the 2013 Capitol Hill People's Fair (June 1-2).
NOTE: DATE CHANGE
The shoot will take place SUNDAY, May 12, 2013 in two segments (you can come for one or both):
IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING, PLEASE SEND A PM TO "PauHana" WITH YOUR NAME, EMAIL, CHOICE OF SEGMENT(S) AND NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR MINI BEFORE MAY 5, 2013.
NOTE: DATE CHANGE
The shoot will take place SUNDAY, May 12, 2013 in two segments (you can come for one or both):
- Segment 1: 8:30 AM meet at Broadway & 13th Ave (Downtown Denver). From 9:00 to 11:00 will be the video/photo of MINIs (that's you) "stunt driving" on closed area streets -- number of MINIs may be limited.
- Segment 2: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM video/photo of MINIs driving then parked in a semicircle at Denver Civic Center Park -- as many MINIs as we can get.
"The Peoples Fair and MINI social media campaign will kick off Friday April 27, 2013 with a Photo contest “Where in Denver, Colorado is the Peoples Fair MINI?” The promotion will run once a week for 6 weeks on Fridays. The weekly contests will also promote the secret gorilla marketing event and MINI take-over of Denver's Civic Center Park on Saturday the 18th. MINIs will descend on Denver from all over to shut down a section of Broadway and take-over Civic Center Park, where we will have videographers and photographers capturing the promotional event.
MINI owners will gather for a driving stunt on Broadway and 13th, then drive into the heart of Civic Center Park for a few hot laps around some of the key Park features. All of the MINIs will gather in the amphitheater and park in a semi-circle in front of the steps to listen to the band playing for the gathering crowd of MINIs (and anyone else in the area)."

Date changed to Sunday, May 12th
The Schomp Downtown Denver video/photo shoot has been rescheduled from May 18th to SUNDAY, MAY 12th, same time/location. The City of Denver moved the date up, so there was no choice in the matter. See message #9 above for further information.

Ready for Sunday
It's all set (3rd time is a charm). Schomp will be expecting us at the Downtown location on time this Sunday, where they'll get us organized for the video/photo shoot! Don't forget to make your MINI (or Classic Mini) shine!

So who is going down from the north? Want to drive together with Teena and I? Don? Phillip? Dave and Tina? Jamie? Erik?
We will be leaving Longmont by 7:15 to 7:30 am just in case there is traffic (which I doubt) to get to Broadway & 13th Ave by 8:30 am
