Black Headlights suggestions help

Good morning all,

I been looking for a replacement for my Stock headlights (non-HID).

Thoughts on these:

http://www.k2motor.com/07-11-mini-co...hts-black.html

Anyone have any experience with these lights, if not any suggestion on other brands or site that I look at.

I do not what any modification to electrical systems. i.e. tapping wires.

TIA...

These are the ones I plan on getting

http://www.specdtuning.com/2lhp-mini06jm-tm.html

.....which I believe are the same as the ones you are interested in (just from a different site). While I have not heard anything negative about them, they do require you to splice some wires in order to run the halos. So if you are absolutely against any type of modification to the wiring, these may not be for you.

Exactly what I'm buying this spring. My buddy is a car technician, he works on HID kits and stuff. He said he'll install the spec-D's for me! Pretty excited! Halogens suck.

My experience with aftermarket bolt in headlights like those was never really good. The light out put wasn't very great.

I ended up retrofitting a good set of projectors from http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ and highly suggest going this route if you are handy with DIY type things. I put a pair of FX-R projectors in my E46 lights. Lots of people go with the Morimoto Mini ( the projectors name ) H1 projectors and like them a lot. They seem pretty simple to install to. My FX-R projectors were much harder to do but I loved them.

I second what M'Cooper said and add 100%. The Retrofit Source is great to work with and from my dealings with them carry quality kit. They are also very good answering questions sent via their website contact page.

I had the spec-D lights and I hated them. The cutoff was poor, the highbeams didn't even work with their wiring, the halos and leds were burned out before I even used them, and worst of all, they would ignore my calls, hang up on me, and not return my emails about getting a replacement set.

I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone.

I did recently do a retrofit with my old housings to black xenon. Let me know if someone is interested in purchasing them, I'm contemplating doing a second set and doing things a bit differently, so mine could be up for sale if the price is right.

Can you post a pic? I'm interested to see what yours look like.

I put LaminX on my headlights just to see what it'd look like before purchasing a blackout halo set. I actually like it a lot, light output is diminshed with stock headlights non-xenon (R53) but I'm planning to get grille mounted driving lights after installing aero grille.
