I still have scars from the drivers side. I didn't know I was going to remove skin while removing the bulb. Keep trying...it's hard to get any leverage.
If it's well and truly stuck, it may be easier just to remove the whole headlight assy from the car (4 bolts and one electrical connector). I can remove and replace both my headlights in 10 minutes without having to bend over or skin my knuckles.
I ended up getting mad at mine when I was installing my LED bulbs. I just forced the bulb out by twisting the socket with all my might. It broke all the little plastic tabs on the fog bulb socket but the bulb sits tightly in there now and is easy to take out when I want it!
I'd probably still suggest doing it the right way tho.
It makes it much easier if you can jack up the side you are working on, turn the wheel in as far as it will go to gain access. I was lucky and had someone help me who has a hydraulic lift.
