What water/meth kit choose?
Hi everyone. I'm from Argentina and i own a Citroen DS3. It has the 1.6 THP, the same as the minis but with a smaller turbo. It has 150hp. In a couple of week i'll be in the US and i looking for a kit of water/meth.
I've seen the one AEM sells and Devils Own.
AEM only sells one kit. But in the Devils Own there are several. And to be frank i'm not an expert when it comes to water/meth. There are the 2 Bar Stage 2, 2,5 Bar Stage 2, 3 Bar Stage 2, DVC-100 Stage 2, DVC-30 Stage 2.
Some are more difficult to tune than others?
The car will run for now with 2,5'' complete exhaust with cai and the correspondant ecu tune.
Could some orientate or recommend me which one to buy and why?
Thank you!!

Contact this guy, http://howertonengineering.com. He makes great kits specifically for the Mini. He should be able to help you. Nice car, I want one of them.
Thnaks guys. I would like to buy one of the twos i mentioned. Here in Argentina i've seen some VW Bora with the Devils Own kits but no idea which specifically. And of AEM none but i know it's a brand to trust. Do they operate in different ways? The problem is also that i'll be only 4 nights and i have to find a dealer that has stock.

Howerton's HFS-4 is awesome! However, it will only work if you can get CLEAN and not recycled methanol. I had lotsa grief finding some originally, and had to replace all the fluid handling parts. Make sure you can find some in Argentina.
What are the differences between the HFS-3 and HFS-4? I've been leaning toward the 3.
I might be. Anything wrong with it?

Does this mean not HEET?
Does this mean no heet
Suggest you work with the WMI supplier you choose, to determine what methanol source will or will not work. Jeff Howerton is very helpful.
The "Fast-Acting-Valve" in the HFS4 is a very close-tolerance item and sensitive to contaminants (anything other than methanol). Don't even think about using the same methanol used by racers burning methanol INSTEAD of gasoline. That was my first WMI mistake!
Howerton makes a great system, but you gotta treat it with respect. Best of luck ---

Care to provide additional details on this? Are you saying that the methanol used by go-cart racers and the like isn't 'acceptable'? That pretty much just leaves the methanol sold by bio-diesel supply makers.
I'm trying to let you know that when a WMI system is used to supplement gasoline, the metering systems are extremely close tolerance, and any contaminants will most likely cause a system failure. When a race car uses only methanol for fuel, the metering systems are loose enough to tolerate contaminants. This fuel is also quite a bit less expensive than the high-purity methanol required by the HFS3 / 4 WMI systems.
Again, work with your WMI supplier to determine which fuels are acceptable. I'm just letting everyone know about the problem I had with a cheap methanol source, used by the local racing community. When I switched to the recommended purity, WMI problems went away.
More clarification --- the methanol I'm using is considered racing fuel! My source for this fuel has changed so I'm assured no contaminants, unless I stupidly add some. I buy it in a 5 gallon sealed container, and keep all my fluid handling / mixing stuff clean. Pricey stuff compared to the bulk methanol available, but well worth it, knowing my WMI system won't quit again because of contaminants.

I have been running Windshield washer fluid and Heet in my HFS 3 for over 6 months now with no issues. If you are going to run washer fluid make sure it is the -20 degree blue washer fluid. Any other kind will mess up your system and cause the car to smoke. Bug gone and most other colored varients contain Glycol which is the sames tuff in Anti freeze= Smoke show.
