Hi all,

I have been using voice command button on the steering wheel for 2.5yrs and all of sudden it stopped working recently. The telephone button (just below the voice button) on the steering wheel still works (calls the last # used when pressed). Anyone know how to re-enable? Both my phone and Bluetooth on the radio panel is paired..... thanks in advance...

Mine never worked. MA said there should be a fix for it very soon. Now, I just hold down the main button on my Iphone for 3 sec and then I can voice dial like normal.

 

Yea, I read about that on 2013 models while searching.....but mine has been working since I got my car - june of 2011 and no recent factory update either.....

Oops, I guess that makes little over 1.5 yrs, not 2.5 :-)

 

My 2011 CM was just in for service, and the voice command button no longer works. I'm wondering if they applied a software update that deleted the feature. I understand that the 2013 models without connected no longer support the voice command feature.

I just discovered this last night - and will call my local dealer as soon as they open this morning. I'll post here with their reply.

I can voice dial in my 2013.

 

Is the Voice Dial in your car the built-in one from MINI, or your phone's Voice Dial?

 

Confirmed with my dealer that the software update they applied did not discriminate among 2011/12/13 models. The latest update (should have asked for the version number, sorry!) corrects the problem.

They offered to send a truck to fetch mine (I'm 75 miles from dealer) and also offered to pay for a rental car.

It was the vehicle's voice dial.

To be honest though, I had to bring my Mini in a few weeks ago for the OBC to be programmed in (apparently the first few handful of 2013s left the factory with no mpg or miles-to-empty function) and I haven't tried to voice dial since it got updated. I might have to try it again.

 

i just got my 2011 updated with the latest software and the voice button went away as well :( anyone get it put back after such updates?

 

I have a 2012 CMS with Bluetooth but not Connected. Is the voice button suppose to work?

The button with the phone headset works as a redial but the the voice button does nothing currently.
