after about a week after picking up my mini at the dealer,
i got a package in the mail containing a tshirt that read 00240.
anybody have any idea what this means?

It means you owe them $240....no it should mean that your
car is the 240th they have sold.

 

yeah, everyone is supposed to get one of those. Mine says 00000087.

Although check your contract, I doubt it was free, most people paid $50 for it as part of the MINI purchase!

 

I believe I'll get one too from the Utah dealer. My friend just picked up hers and she got one...actually got that same number. For her she purchased the 240th car from that dealer. Rumor has it that they will do that for the first 300 cars sold so mine should be around 265 or so....

 

mine was free, #00042, came with the car at delivery...if they would have tried to charge me $50, I would have told them where they could shove it...lol!

 

Not every buyer will get a numbered t-shirt or a bound Unofficial Owners Manual. These are only bought by some dealers for their customers as part of their happy buyers relationship program. Also, the t-shirts are only for the first 300 buyers at a dealership that's bought into the program.

Darn. As much as I like my dealer, they didn't do either.

 

That's the only downside to Classic MINI. Julie (my saleswoman) said for some reason they weren't participating in the t-shirt thing, so I never got one. Ah well.

Exactly. Not only was mine free, but I also received a FREE hat, $20 keychain and the 7 in 1 Navigation kit for my son!!!

I was number 238. I still have the shirt in the wrapper in my glove box. But I'll wear it soon for sure!

 

#263, New Country MINI

 

I picked up my car on Tuesday night and got shirt number 56 (because I asked about the numbered shirts). Desert MINI in Las Vegas is doing the shirts, but it seems only if you already know about them and ask, or if they "like you".

The guy who took my order told me he'd throw in a lapel pin (I collect them) and when I mentioned it to my final salesman (I think I had 5 different salemen between July and October), they gave me one. Without asking, each of the 2 remote keys came with a really nice "Let's motor" keyring.
