I have 2002 Mini and it seems as though the cluch has gone out, But I am not sure if thats true, I was thinking the throw out bearing, or ?
I was driving and it stopped moving, it went into reverse once, thank god.

More info needed...symptoms, clutch feel, pedal feel sounds, etc...any slipping first?
BUT unless you are planning on diy'ing it, it is all a moot point...
If you are lucky $$$ wise, it might be a master/slave hydroic cylindar....but still needs some special skills/tools to bleed the replacement....might be worth looking at the shift linkage...but all dependd on sounds feel, etc

really no real symptoms, a couple time poped out of gear while driving pedal feels the same still, no sliping, I was a mechanic so I feel I can do the work myself, there is no catching of any gear but chuch feels the same

May be internal gear selectors?

So it is a 2002, NON S (a just-a cooper) with a MIDLANDS tranny...
just so you know, many MINI's are on their 2nd or even 3rd Midlands trannys if driven agressivly, especially the early ones.....it seems the midlands is just not up to the task, and in 2005 mini switched to a getrag 5 speed on the Just-a cooper...the S has a pretty bullet prof getrag 6 speed....
Not saying the tranny is blown, but the fact it "popped" out of gear is not a good sign. any sounds... whirring sounds or anything?

pull out the air box, and see if the shifter cables are still intact.

or maybe it's under the battery in the 2002, I can't remember, but on my 05 it's under the air filter.

You say you can "put it in gear, but when you let the clutch out, nothing"....so no smell or any sounds? And just like in my first post, LOOK AT THE LINKAGE!! If you are moving the shift handle, but it is not connected.....
Folks can't help you if you don't play with it and make observations, but it sounds like since you "were a mechanic" you should be able to trouble shoot it a bit...play with it and narrow down the possibilities....
a person on a computer could spend hours debating what might be the issue, a mechanic should be able to find the issue in minutes...nothing beats hands on time!!
