Alarm: pain in the ***????

The alarm is part of premium package . My MA doesn't think an alarm is necessary, since there is a passive kill. However, since I want everything else in the package , he thinks I should get the alarm , too....
Now, if a bird craps on car, or if my cat jumps on car , will it go off? How sensitive is it, and is it an easy shut off?
Is it a pain in the ***?

I have an odd issue when I open the boot sometimes, but other than that it has never gone off, even with the top down. It's fully integrated, arms and disarms with the normal key fob or the comfort access buttons. Has the nice heartbeat light on the tacho too. I'd get it.

Not overly sensitive, I think. Mine has only gone off once, by accident, when I absent-mindedly reached into the locked, top-down, car to pick up a package. Yes, easy to shut off, as long as you have the key with you. But really loud!

Spiney,
you mentioned the light on the tacho, but does the light under the review mirror also flash like on the Bimmers?
I'm also debating this option as I don't have a garage.
Thanks!
Danny

There's something under the rear view mirror, but there's no light as far as I know. I don't know what it's for, I always assumed it was part of the motion sensor.

That **** is to be turned and tilt (dim) the annoying HIDs from the Civic behind you.

As far as the alarm is concerned we get the heartbeat on the top of the tach.

Now, if the "****" would also dim the headlights from monster trucks behind that would be useful...

But seriously, I have the auto-dip rear view mirror which just has a little opening on the lower surround on the mirror for the sensor, I thought. I always thought the big thing under the mirror was an alarm sensor or something like that. I'll have to look in the manual.

it looks like to me on the newer models the twist **** on the rear view mirror to adjust for high beams has been made clear. Not sure why as you still cant see through it. On my '07 its black and on all the ones in the dealership i saw, they were clear.
