they do have them. The 1st ones shipped did not and now there is suppose to be retrofit for the early ones.

There is a condition where some automatics did not come with Paddleshifters. This can be retroactively fitted from the dealership at no charge, if you are covered under warranty. Ask your SA to open a PUMA case and have them retrofitted. - we do it all the time at our shop!

 

Interesting, my production sheet says "Steptronic Automatic Transmission." Nothing about paddles and the salesperson just told me it is coming without the paddles.

I'm asking because I would like to install a pre-2011 wooden steering wheel (automatic with paddles) onto my 2013 and wonder if that is even possible.

Any thoughts?

I'm referring to a MC HT, not the JCW version.

 

From what I remember, those that ordered the "wooden steering wheel" did not get Paddle Shifters due to the configuration of the wheel. Something to check into before you go and spend a wad of dough!!

 

Not true for the 07s, I had the wooden steering wheel on my 07 and it had paddle shifters. Are you saying that the wooden steering wheel in the 2013 did not come with the shifters? Knowing that would help me a lot!

MINIUSA stopped offering paddle shifters on Cooper (non-S) models, from around 2009: http://www.motoringfile.com/2008/12/...om-the-cooper/

It should be possible to retrofit, but I don't think there is an official retrofit kit, and some dealers may be reluctant to figure it out on their own.

 

Thanks, that is what I figured. I don't really want them badly enough to do any retrofitting or anything (they were kind of a pain anyway), just trying to figure out if I ordered an older steering wheel without the paddle shifters (3 spoke) will that work on my new 2013 Hardtop which is also a paddle-less 3-spoke?
