Hey gang, I have a non-MINI project going on that I'd like to match to Indi Blue, but the color has to be specified in RAL color code. I know we couldn't get a perfect match, but I can't figure out what would be a close 2nd. Every other web site I look at has different swatches both on the RAL side and for Indi Blue samples. Anyone have any thoughts?

just today I took my spare pepper white hood scoop to a powder coating place... they gave me a chart I took it and the scoop outside to find my best match.

Oh if only I had anything Indi Blue still. I'm afraid she was sold long ago. Thanks for the idea, though.

 

OK, go to someplace like

and buy a rattle can of Indi Blue ... that'll cost you $20 plus shipping unless you find a local auto paint supply that fills rattle cans (don't laugh - in any significant metropol' area they are around. check yellow pages and make some calls.)

spray a standard test card (usually a white coated cardboard piece)

then compare THAT to a RAL card . . .

if this sounds good but you need help getting from A to B pm me - all you need is the color code for I' blue . . . which was/is 862

BUT I wonder if a good auto paint shop with a color match gun can't provide the output in RAL terms . . .
