I need to move forward with my selection for a set of r-compound tires for my Cooper. I'll be autocrossing it for the first time later this month.

I've got the 16" x-lites available as wheels, or I could find a set of 15" 7-holes.

So, do I go 16" and settle for Ecsta V700s (not the Victoracers since they aren't available in that size), or drop down to the 15" and get the Victoracers or Hoosiers.

I'm leaning against the Hoosiers because I probably want more tire life than they will give.

Then there are the Toyos, etc..

Which is the optimal way to go?

225/45/15 on either manufacture.

Hoosier go fast and cost!

Kumho saves the green, but is a heavier tire, and more durable.

I run the victoracers 205/50/15 on the 7 hole wheels for local events. I save the Hoosiers for the big time.

You can get a whole season out of the victos if you rotate them.
