comfort level of coilovers

So I was given the opportunity to buy a set of D2 coilovers, they are sorta new. Bolted to a race car and its been on jack stands for 2 years and never actully used. They also have different camber plates he said the standard ones fail.

My question is what's the comfort level of coilovers like compares to stock? As the missus loves my car but constantly complains how bumpy the ride is. The less complaints the better!

Are they worth it? Personally I like a bumpy ride

My standard shocks are 150000km old anyway so there rooted, as are the top bushes too.

D2 is pretty terrible. Crappy damping.

I have always preferred to use factory top mounts since they do not create noise. Never really heard of this brand before.

Every coilover has different quality. This leads to better adjust of ride height and in some cases dampening.

With not knowing of this brand I couldn't give you a professional opinion of the comfort level.

one of the down sides to CO you feel every bump in the road. it the trade off you get. now that being said there are brands out there that have a "more comfortable" ride then other brands but there $$$. like how you said they were on a race car. im guessing there much stiffer and going to be less comfy them others but i dont know that much about them. i've got a pair of Megan CO and love them, the height control beter handling,... but i feel every bump i go over (personally i like it )

I'm gonna say that if they were for a race car then they prolly are gonna suck for any kind of DD. Spring rates are prolly more performance oriented than comfort oriented. Coilovers that have both the benefits of lowering and being comfortable are pretty expensive... around the 2500 range I believe. If your wife/gf is already complaining about how bumpy the ride is on the OEM stuff...even with that many miles on them... then getting coilovers prolly is a move in the wrong direction.

D2 suck for a racecar and they suck for a DD. But they are cheap and can get you low.
