Mini - bluetooth - Iphone 4s - non connected - Pandora

If I purchase an I phone - can I play Pandora through the Y cable - or does it play using the bluetooth?

If the Y cable - I would guess it is non digital

Yes, Pandora works through the Y-cable. Also, since the y-cable connects through usb, the info should be displayed on the radio
