Having a PR as my first MINI it is hard not to love it. To me Blazing Red looks more towards the burgundy side. I do like the Chili Red, but it isn't a unique color as it is available on other MINI's. I do like them all in their different ways, but PR is the most unique IMO.

OK, believe it or not I’m not going to vote. But I do think we need to look at the overall situation.
MINI is a German engineered car, built in the UK, and sold on the Mini legacy. MINI CM, however, is a German engineered car, built in Austria, and sold as a SUVette with Mini undertones. In short, it is neither a MINI nor a Mini. As such, it runs its own path with its own identity. Color is a big part of that identity.
So, as to color:
Pure Red – In a sea of white, black, and dark lumps out on the highway, you need to get noticed. CM took a chance on 2 colors, one of which seems more popular. Love it or hate it, it does get noticed. People may pick another color in the show room, but you have to get them into the show room first. PR has done a great job for 2 years, time to retire it. Sorry, PR fans.
Chili Red – So, they wanted to test the waters to see if a new red would fly. What better way than to paint a couple of hundred cars in a red you already have and drop them in the US? Apparently, it worked. But, CR is a UK red and does not fit the Austrian game plan. It can’t be used in full-scale CM production. Sorry, CR fans.
Blazing Red – Nice color, but have you noticed that the CM colors lean towards the dark side? And, apparently, no one in the spray booth has ever seen a true metallic paint. They’re supposed to sparkle and dazzle. So we have a red that fits the general requirement that the color has to be a misnomer. Metallic Blazing Red – it’s not really metallic and it doesn’t really blaze. Congrats BR fans.
There are no bad color choices for CM customers, as long as you get a car that makes you grin when you look at it. There are a lot more important things to discuss with this Austrian wannabe. Just spin the color wheel and take one home. Then the real fun begins.

I must be color blind or color stunted in some way because I really can't see the differences in the reds until they are side by side or someone points out the differences.
I just like the reds. I actually had a PR countryman picked out but my MA and husband both said they liked the chili better. So I went with that and it is truly beautiful. It sits right next to a red Sahara Jeep everyday. I have a hard time seeing the differences in reds, but my husband assures me they're there.
It's like I tell my husband. I would have probably been thrilled with any color.

THe Countryman pure red was a silly name. It was red-orange and ugly IMO. Blazing red is better. Chili red is by far the best.
I find the Countryman versions of colors too LIGHT.
I saw Blazing Red in person at the dealer today, and I'm not a fan. It has too much brown in it for me. If I were to choose between Chili Red and Pure Red, I'd have a hard time. Pure Red has grown on me a lot.
