I think it was decided in the electrical sub-forum this cannot be done without adding wires to the light. I hope I am wrong but a few of the coding guys tried and could not get it to work. One even opened up the light to trace wires or something like that.
On the Countryman, the wiring that powers and controls that light is missing, unlike in the older models. So you have to wire it up, and then code it, for it to work.

Any estimate as to the depth and difficulty of doing that? Is it something the dealer could/would do?
Just modifying the code will not work. I've tried it along with a few other NCS Expert coding folks. You can ask your dealer, but I'm not sure they would take on the job.
