Code for alarm light activation with no alarm?

I wanted the alarm, but pretty much just foir the pulsating red light on the tach.

I've heard that there are codes that can be entered that will activate the red light pulse when the doors are locked even with no alarm in the car.

Anyone done this and know the code?

I think it was decided in the electrical sub-forum this cannot be done without adding wires to the light. I hope I am wrong but a few of the coding guys tried and could not get it to work. One even opened up the light to trace wires or something like that.

Best of luck

On the Countryman, the wiring that powers and controls that light is missing, unlike in the older models. So you have to wire it up, and then code it, for it to work.

Any estimate as to the depth and difficulty of doing that? Is it something the dealer could/would do?

you can always try to modify the code first, if it works then, that means your car is pre-wired, if not, doesn't hurt anything.

refer to https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...r60-guide.html for instructions.

Just modifying the code will not work. I've tried it along with a few other NCS Expert coding folks. You can ask your dealer, but I'm not sure they would take on the job.

Every dealer is different. Just pick up the phone and call them.
