Has anyone opted for this treatment at time of pickup or is it not worth it, $787 is what they offered it to us. The car will be absolute black.

Thanks thats the research I am finding. And if it is installed, I wonder if you will be able to clay and clean the car every 6 months. With black it is going to be a PITA to keep clean since we get sprinkles alot out here and we only have a carport.

Go to the 'Detailing 101' section, find everything you can from Richard / Octaneguy. He is one of the most helpful detailing gurus on NAM. His website has lots of helpful stuff too. Turning yourself into a OCD detailing neurotic can give you lots of satisfaction in having a show room MINI to show off to your friends.

It sounded like a scam when presented to me. So I declined.

Research showed the sane results. Only one or two people stated it was a good deal. The warranty was the only potential selling point.

I passed on it.

The dealer was trying to convince me that it would hold up for years and I would NEVER have to wax my car again....

Regardless, I actually enjoy spending a nice day detailing my car... So I told him to stick it.

Shiny and swirl free paint is like weight loss. If you want lose weight you need to eat fewer calories and get sweaty on a regular basis. If you want shiny and swirl free paint you need to have good products and use a little elbow grease on weekends. There are no miracles in a bottle.
