Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2013 MC hardtop (highclass grey, white roof), my first Mini and I'm enjoying it a ton.

One question: when poking around under the hood, I noticed that the inside of the hood didn't have any padding on it, but there were holes where it looked like it could be mounted.

Is this a mistake, should there be a pad there? I ordered mine right from the factory, it's possible they forgot it.

The padding you are referring to is an insulation for the turbo on a MCS. It is not needed on a Justa ---

 

Congrats on your new Mini.
I have a 2013 Cooper S Hard Top and mine didn't come with any under hood insulation from the factory.
All the 2013 models that I saw on the dealer lot didn't have any insulation either.

 

Davester is correct, you have no need for insulation under the hood. Harley, my 2011 MCS didn't have any either so I invested in the NM Titanium Heat Shield. It may be a little pricey, but so is the car.

Mine didn't come with the insulation either. I bought it at the parts counter at the MINI dealer -- $85 and it fills all of the holes in the bonnet
