JCW Coupe pic request - side stripes

Im trying to decide on JCW side stripes for my coupe. It is the black/red color scheme.

Does any one have a shot of the oem JCW side stripes on the coupe? Ive seen the red stripes on the white coupe, but thats it.

Thanks
Black

I posted a pic on Facebook of my Black and red JCW Coupe with the side stripes. You can see it here:

ah thank you very much! I think it looks great.

I wonder how much Mini installs them for. I am trying to get the red side stripes and extended the dual strips down to the front and back bumper. They are closed tho now

I think my dealer quoted something like $160, installed. I'd have to dig up the e-mail to confirm though....

Really? I hope I can get that same figure, I am expecting a ridiculous install fee.

Was it at a mini? I just called - not sure if they understood which stripes I was talking about, but they said $240 to install the stripes. :(

I just looked at my receipt and the cost was $260 not $160. My bad. I had some MINI Visa bucks to use with it so out of pocket was around $160. It was at the local dealership in Denver.

Did you buy the stripes from the dealer? My dealer has not seen your side stripes before, and I want to get them for my black coupe too!!

is grumpy - LB with silver side stripes and silver roof - could not find a shot but a great combo.

I don't think you could go wrong as long as there is contrast and a right color.

I think you are right. I would have to see the silver though, to see how close it is to my existing silver stripes.

That's what it looks like on black. The silver looks to be light silver.

I could not find install documents, but its line up with painter tap. Spry water on a back side after you peal a corner away , then squeegee the water out. Then peal back the font tape.

I will be applying the stripes this weekend since local shops here are charging too much for installation. Just to clarify- So I line up with painters tape so it will be straight. Wet the back side of the stripe and apply to car. Squeegee out the water. Do I need to wait for it to dry to peel out the front tape?

Once you squeegee out the water as good as you can spray the masking with the same soapy solution and let it set a few minutes or so ( alittle longer won't hurt ) it will help loosen the masking and give the vinyl alittle time to adhere to the car to help make it easier to pull the masking off without it trying to pulling the vinyl off with it... Also pull the masking straight back at an angle to the vinyl so you can easily watch to make sure the vinyl is not peeling up with it and you can work a corner back down with your other hand if need be before the whole section has peeled up..

+1 , give it a little time in the sun to dry before you peal the top paper off.

Installation was not too bad. After searching the web, I would add use isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface. Be sure the squeegee you buy is the hard tip rubber. The soft one was useless to remove bubbles. The aligning of the painters tape was the hardest part. So what I finally did was get the widest tape available and taped it from the bottom of the car sill do it would be straight. Just waiting now for it to dry before I remove front tape.
