K&N Typhoon Air Intake Problem R56 S

Hi guys, I wish to seek for some tips and helps on installing the K&N Typhoon Air Intake system on my R56 S.

Its supposed to be straight forward but my mini is not US specs and I do not have the MAF sensor. Therefore I do not know how to bridge across this missing link. Has anyone one here has done it and care to show me some photos and tips. Please. Thanks.

I installed mine a couple months ago and if I remember correctly the maf sensor has two screw into the heat shield, so you need to find a way to screw the pipe onto the heat shield. Since the pipe it comes with is rigid you could try and use the stock tubing and hose clamp onto the piece that sticks out of the heat shield. Just an idea, ill go outside and look at it for a better idea and get back

This is my temporary setup, I pulled the base of the cone filter thru the heat shield and connect directly with a PVC plumbing pipe. That way the cone filter is secured itself in the heat shield. Between the hose clamp and the heat shield, I put an industrial rubber band, the green thing, to stop in from moving around and provide some cushioning. The filter and the inlet pipe are now secured and do not move much. Total cost is 5 dollars Australian.

Looks good for a fix, I would get a metal tube the same size and paint it black, that way it looks like it came with the insert. Funny euro BMWs done have a MAF for some applications. Great fix.
