Passenger Airbag Seat Sensor faulty 2006 r50

Has anyone tried a seat sensor imulator to overide/bypass the oem faulty passenger seat sensor? The oem replacement parts are $618 and the labor can be another 300 bucks.

Airbags are important and I don't want to risk them not working should they need to work for a passenger

Any comments on the subject are appreciated

Thanks!

See if you can get one from a wrecked mini. I do think you need some special programming to get the light out, but maybe someone with experience can chime in on that.

Good Advice

That was my first thought. And there seem to be quite a few used OEM seats out there from wrecked Mini's however most sellers want to sell the whole seat and it could be risky buying a whole seat including the cost of shipping to find it has a faulty sensor also :-(

How about a local wrecking yard?

That could be an option. I guess I'm still hesitant to buy a whole used seat and find it also has a faulty sensor. However it may be cheaper to buy a couple seats locally until I find one that has a good sensor LOL
