A fellow mini owner recommended that I install a K&N air filter. I check and their appears to be two models: 69-2004TTK (Typhoon) and 57A-6037 (Apollo)

I have a completely stock 2007 Mini Cooper S. I am not sure what the difference is in the two K&N filters. Any advice?

 

It appears the apollo has a different shape intake tube and a filter encased in a "protective shell" whereas the typhoon is your typical open cone "cold air intake"

The typhoon would probably let loose more engine noise and flow slightly better as far as I can tell.

If I had an R56 and these were my choices I'd get the typhoon and an aftermarket diverter valve...call me a ricer but I do enjoy a good "BOV" sound.
