R56 jcw GP questions

Hey guys so I put my name down for a 2013 jcw gp. I have never had a cooper so it should be fun... Anyways I was wondering for around 4k how much performance could you get ? Tune downpipe exhaust meth intake intercooler ?
My goal was 300whp I hope the car would be a monster like I said not familiar with minis and I know 300whp in a 2500lb car would scoot! Thanks again!

First off, GPII doesn't weigh 2500lbs.....where did you come up with those numbers ?

And if your plan is to canniblize a limited Edition GPII for the sake of a few HP numbers then buy something else to get your bang for the buck as your barking up the wrong street.

300 whp on fwd car like the MINI just wouldn't make sense. Like bk said you are better off with a JCW which has most of the engine mods to begin with and the beefed up clutch. The GP has similar hp to the JCW as well.

Your best bet is really a used JCW with the N14 engine since there are more tunes available for that one. It would be tough to take a JCW or GP from 208 hp at the crank to 300 whp with what is available out on the market. You would likely need a new turbo to accomplish this and be over your 4k budget after adding in the cost of the tune, down pipe, exhaust and cai.

Also, you would really be hurting the value of the GP with that many mods on the limited edition car. Obviously, to each his own and MINIs are all about the owner. Just wanted to give you the thoughts on what you'll need to look into to get where you want to be hp wise. Best of luck and congrats on the GP order!

We are actually getting the new GPII and will be doing several mods to it as it will be my personal car. We are not planning on 300hp, but several nice upgrades including an intercooler, DP, exhaust, sway bar, and some more.

I find it funny when people post they want a 300hp FWD car. As you will find most people that drive a 250hp car think it's great, but will have torque steer bad, think of what a 300hp car would be.

I just love the style of the gp and I was told that the gp weighs 100 lbs less then a jcw. I mean could 300bhp be achieved ?

The rear seat is removed on the GP and the wheels are lighter, but according to the press launch, the JCW and GP weigh the same. The GP was a lot faster at the track mainly due to suspension mods in the car.

I'm sure 300 hp could be achieved. You'll probably need to look into a limited slip differential too to try to limit the torque steer a bit, but I don't think it'll help much with that much hp.

I read somewhere on the GP release that it actually weighted a little more because of the heavy brakes and other reinforcements. But I'm not 100% sure. I think the minis are great fun as they are. Maybe a little better supension, but if you want 300hp I would just go for the BMW 135i instead.

How about a ATP GT28 Turbo kit, intake, meth, intercooler... and it comes with downpipes so it should sound good with the JCW exhaust it has. Goal of 300whp maybe or 275whp+?
