try to seafoam today

I plan to do seafoam today. Last time during pouring through pcv valve, my car was stalled but i kept pouring it. Would it be okay? i am kinda worried if this would happen again. this time i gonna pour 1/3 pcv, 1/3 gas tank, 1/3 oil

You can't pour it in the PCV line so fast. Put the Seafoam in a spray bottle and gradually spray it in. Maybe like 10 good sprays then put your thumb over the hose to let it get sucked in. If you stalled the car from pouring it in too fast and kept going after that till you emptied a third of a can, I would not start the car. You have too much in the system and can potentially hydrolock the engine. Take all the spark plugs out and stick a hose down the hole to suck it out. You probably have a ton pooled in the intake manifold as well. I would take the throttle body tube off the throttle body and let it all drain out whilst moving the throttle plate open with your finger. Better safe then sorry and bending a conrod

Seafoam helps minimally with the intake buildup, but you really need to do it manually or with a walnut blaster machine to do it right.

Don't put it in the oil. No point in putting it in the gas tank. Use the aerosol can if you can find it.

I just had my walnut shell blasting, and the tech said I had the cleanest valves of the bunch he'd done so far, 48k on the Odo. So, I personally don't think it's worthless or that the smoke is just burning seafoam. From what he said, I probably could have gone another 15k w/ any real issues. How much of that was due to the multiple seafoam treatments (2 aerosol cans in 12months), I can't say scientifically.

I go through the PCV line, and pour very slowly. It takes a couple minutes to get 1/3 can into the line. The way I look at it is to think you're about to pour out a single drop, so you want to bring the level of the fluid right to the edge of the cup (I use a Solo cup, and crease the lip for a fine point.) Once the liquid is right at the edge, the suction is enough to drink off a mist of fluid into the line, without really "pouring."

What he said. You need to do it very slowly. With what you described to us I would not push the start button until you are dead-8ss nuts certain there isn't a ton of seafoam sitting in your combustion chamber ready to hydrolock a cylinder.

If you're not certain what you're doing to the engine time to let a mechanic help you before you hurt your MINI.

It's a waste of time and does not properly clean the valves or surrounding surfaces. Walnut blast or by hand is the only way to do it right. Save your money.
